This website, iteachmaths.com (“we”, “us”), is run by its owner. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the site or subscribe to it.
You can use the questions and timer without giving us any personal details: there is no account, no sign-up, and no tracking or advertising cookies. The Rewards tool keeps the names and points you enter on your own device only; we never receive them. If you choose to subscribe, we handle a small amount of information so we can take payment and look after your subscription. Card payments are handled by Stripe, so we never see or store your card number.
The questions, timer and answers all run in your web browser. We do not save your answers or scores. The site does not use cookies. The only things it saves in your browser are described under “Rewards tool” and “Subscriber access code” below.
The Rewards tool lets a teacher add student names, give positive or negative points and spin a wheel to pick a student. Everything you enter, including the names, points and your sound setting, is kept on your own device. If you are a subscriber, it is saved in your browser’s local storage so that it is still there next time; if you are not, it is kept only until you close or refresh the page. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it.
We suggest using first names, initials or nicknames only, and not entering anything sensitive. Teachers and schools are responsible for how they use pupils’ names under their own school policies. Because the data stays on one device, it does not follow you to another computer. Clearing your browser data, or using the “Remove all” button, deletes it.
If you enter a subscriber access code, the site saves a small note in your browser’s local storage to remember that this device is unlocked, so you do not need to enter the code again. It contains no personal information.
Our subscriptions (£3 a month for one teacher account, or £5 a month for multiple teacher accounts) are paid through Stripe, a payment provider. When you click Subscribe you leave our site and go to a Stripe checkout page.
Students can use the questions without giving us any details. Subscriptions are for teachers and schools and must be bought by an adult. If you are unsure about anything here, please ask a parent, carer or teacher.
If we add other features that collect or send information (such as analytics, advertising, or saving names and points online), we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, or to restrict or stop using it in certain cases. If you have never subscribed to or contacted us, we will normally hold nothing about you, but you are welcome to ask. If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
